Tackling Stretch Marks

Saturday, September 4th, 2010

Stubborn and frustrating is the lengths to which a woman will go to get rid of the stretch marks.

Just for the sake of that one in a million women who does not have any idea of what I am referring to, below is the definition:

Stretch marks are those unsightly and difficult to removes scars that occur below the surface of the skin when women gain or loose weight too quickly. What happens is that a tear forms in the deep layers of the skin or the dermis.

Where can one find stretch marks?

I should care to tell you that the first time I noted my absolute Share of these ugly marks, I was just a ripening teenager.

At first I was scared to death about what was happening to the fresh on my hips, lower back and the inner thighs.

Though mine are just few and invisible, I should tell you that some women own lots of them especially around the waistline, belly, lower back, inner thighs, around the hips, upper arms, under and around the breasts and off course not forgetting the behind.

How do they look like?

Ha! Just looking at some of my own, I tell you they are disgusting. I got a chocolate complexion but these ugly marks look silvery and a bit lighter than my skin, I hate them!

I thought I was abnormal to have them, but then I realized that many women are just as disappointed as me.

If you have not seen them, perhaps your girlfriend is so lucky not to have a visible one, but I highly doubt if she is so blessed to lack just a few.

Do they look good or bad on black or white women?

Well I have just told you that I belong to the black community and I feel horrible to see them each day.

Those who are darker or lighter than my self do not have any reason to smile. Those women who wear tight jeans and tops are a good way to spot the stretch marks if you do not know them.

Just time them when they are bending and I just hope that the one you will see does not look like a zebra.

The white women as well are not happy about these stretch marks that appear on both fat and slender feminine.

They are simply dreaded like plagued by all women around the planet.

How common are they among women?

Perhaps stretch marks should second the female reproductive organs to differentiate between the two genders of humanity.

We all know that we gain or loose weight at some point in our lives, at times too quickly, which explains why they occur.

Almost every other young or old woman, slender or chubby has them, it does not matter the quantity or where she has them.

If you are a woman and do not have them, then you must be one in a million.

Are stretch marks a beauty problem?

The answer is definitely a big yes. Us women love to have a soft, firm, spotless and a fairest of all skins. This is why too many visible stretch marks are a bother to our self-image.
