reducing stretchmarks – How To Choose The Best Stretch Mark Removal Cream by Juana Cruz

Stretch Mark Prevention

Stretch marks are what you call those annoying lines in purple, red or white, which appear on the skin after some time, when the skin fibers are stretched to the limit due to some bodily or hormonal changes. This can be due to sudden weight loss or gain, pregnancy, growth of muscles and physique and puberty. Stretch marks are very annoying, can be a source of embarrassment and can be frustrating. If you want to solve the problem that is stretch marks, among the things you can do is by using a stretch mark removal cream.

Stretch mark removal creams are all over the market to answer the needs of thousands who want to remove their stretch marks without going for some laser surgery or cosmetic peels. Unfortunately for you, though, you cannot completely remove stretch marks because they are permanent. However, you can make them look faded and less apparent to make the skin more even and finer in texture.

So how can you choose one that can work very well for you? Here are some things you should include in your checklist when buying a stretch mark cream.

1. Customer testimonials

Testimonials – the positive, encouraging ones – are usually seen on the product website to encourage sales. They may be biased to make you buy their product, but somehow these testimonials can help because it means that other people have bought it and have come to their attention. It also means there is a chance it might work for you, too. Or it might not, it’s a gamble.

2. Ingredients

There are certain vitamins, nutrients and other types of ingredients that are commonly found in stretch mark removal creams, because they are proven to help promote collagen increase, as well as skin elasticity.

These are some of the ingredients found in anti-stretch mark products:
* Butcher’s broom
* Calendula
* Centella
* Chickweed
* Ginseng
* Green tea
* Hibiscus
* Horsetail
* Ivy
* Lady’s mantle
* Marshmallow

Vitamin A – Helps promote fast healing of skin injuries, renews the skin cells and increases collagen, to thicken the skin and make it more elastic. Elastic skin means no stretch marks.

Vitamin C – Synthesizes collagen, which is the structural protein found in the skin, and connects the skin tissues together. More collagen in the skin equals greater skin elasticity

Vitamin E – Helps maintain the health of the skin and from post-surgery scars

3. Refund policy

You should ensure they honor they guarantee by reading their refund policy before you buy. These merchant sites have a refund policy in which they return your investment in case nothing worked, or you are not satisfied with the product you bought.

4. Unbiased opinions

You can search for more reviews in other places online. You can find them specifically on forums, websites and general consumer review sites like Epinions.com where you will get to read more about the opinions of other customers who bought the same product.

While there is no guarantee that the stretch mark removal cream you bought will do wonders for you despite all the wonderful claims you have read. However, it is all part of the process of reducing your stretch marks. Results do vary. So, carefully choose the one that seems to be the best out there and buy another if it does not work.

Stretch marks have often been a reason for us to be self-conscious. Because of these scars, our confidence level in wearing a string bikini hits rock bottom. Anybody can relate, that is why there are many techniques on how stretch marks can either be entirely removed or reduced and made less noticeable.

According to doctors, stretch marks are not hazardous to one’s health. Having them does not limit the body to function properly. In fact, stretch marks are like scars. And just like scars, stretch marks are damages to the dermis. What makes it difficult to deal with is because they can be too dark and too ugly to look at.

Some people resort to lotion and topical creams. They diligently and religiously apply these on the surface and hope that there will be improvements. In some cases, there are. In others, it does not. At least, not as much as they expected it to work.

There are so many ways on how you can remove or reduce those pesky stretch marks. Here are some of the latest:

1. Retin-A Treatment

This is what doctors normally recommend. You cannot purchase Retin-A without a prescription. However, this solution works best if the stretch marks are less than a year old. For you to know when the perfect time to try this remedy is if your stretch marks still have a pink or reddish color. Problem is, not all stretch marks start off with that color. There are limitations when you can use this. Do not use Retin-A if you are pregnant and breast-feeding because this might have a side effect on the infant. The way for you to know if the solution is working for you is if you feel a burning and peeling sensation on the surface you applied it on. This means that the new generation of collagen is replacing the old damaged one.

2. Micro-Dermabrasion Treatment

In this process, chemical materials containing micro-crystals are sprayed on the skin using a device similar to a vacuum cleaner. This treatment required multiple sessions, normally 10 to 12 sessions in a span of three to four months. Unfortunately, micro-dermabrasion treatment is brutally painful. Some who tried this said that it was similar to being lashed and whipped. The process may also create additional scars. After one session, you are not allowed to go directly under the sun so as to not have further side effects. At the moment, researchers are still looking on the effectiveness of this surgical remedy.

3. Laser Treatment

Laser or Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation has been used in eye surgeries and removal of tattoos. Laser has been proven to be highly effective when it comes to surgeries. With it, wrinkles, scars, acne, facial and body hair have been successfully removed. In removing stretch marks, the procedure can be very painful. There would be bruising, scabbing, peeling and redness after the session. Multiple sessions are required in the treatment. However, just like all remedies, this does not work for everyone.

Technology has been helpful in our lives. Latest discoveries make life easier for us. As it turns out, these discoveries in technology also contribute in enhancing aesthetic appeal. Whether the stretch marks be completely removed or merely reduced, at least the conducted processes are proof that technology assists us in many ways imaginable.
